EVENTS
Each year Chatham Performing Arts Boosters organize signature events showcasing our talented Chatham students while raising funds to support the music and theatre programs in Chatham schools. Chatham students also perform in school concerts and theatre productions throughout the year supported by CPAB funds and volunteer efforts.
THE LARAMIE PROJECT
Chatham High School Theatre Department presents a virtual production of The Laramie Project, written in 2000 by Moises Kaufman and the Tectonic Theater Project. The play is conducted in interview style as a reaction to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student. Shepard’s murder was denounced as a hate crime and has brought attention to the lack of hate crime laws in many states across our country. This play does have a mature content warning and is recommended for ages 13 and older.
Performances will be held Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5 in virtual format on the ShowTix4U website. Tickets for performances can be purchased online starting Sunday, November 29. The link to purchase and watch the show is www.showtix4u.com/events/chslaramieproject
